A deeply embossed Sterling Silver medal of St. Dominic, founder of the Domincan Order.  He was a priest in the twelfth century and is the patron saint of astronomers and natural scientists and he and his order are credited with spreading the devotion of The Rosary.  His Feast Day is August 8th and is venerated in the Catholic church, The Anglican Church and Lutheran Church.  A special medal indeed.
