This is a most unusual combination of St. Albert and Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  This well loved medal is from France and likely from the 1930's.  St. Albert the Great, was a 13th century scholar, theologian and philosopher and is the patron saint of scientists, students and medical technicians.  On the back is Our Lady of Mount Carmel holding the baby Jesus.
