This is a rare find indeed. A beautiful deeply embossed silver medal featuring St. Ignatius of Loyola Spain, founder of the Jesuit Order of Priests in 1541. His life is an interesting story of wealth, of loss, and of newfound faith. He initiated the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius that is used throughout the world and especially on retreats. He is the patron saint of the Jesuits, soldiers and spiritual retreats. On the back side is St. Francis Xavier. He is considered the co-founder of the Jesuits and was one of the most prolific missionaries and was instrumental in the establishment of Christianity in India, the Malay Archipelago and Japan. He is the patron saint of all missions.
